Moten Swing – Count Basie Well, this started off as a simple one but as the composition progressed it proved to be complex and complicated. The style is that of Swing here with a medium Tempo. Apart from the regular piano and drums, there is trumpets and trombones. Moten Swing was no doubt the biggest hit and the USP of it was the sudden surprises. The stresses on the piano really takes the mood to a different level. There is a constant chord in the background which adds to the thick complex texture of the composition.
